INSEALIN SWIMWEAR
DURATION: 08 MONTHS
LOCATION: RICHMOND, BC, CANADA
PROJECT TYPE: GRADUATION PROJECT
My overall goal with the branding was to explore a combination of the Blue Circle which is the international symbol recognized to represent diabetes and the seal animal. The reason for this is threefold, seal fur is hydrophobic and provides a barrier from the skin as well as a seal on a container provides protection in a similar way. With those points in mind the brand name was established, INSEALIN which is a homophone of the medication used by individuals who have diabetes, Insulin and the sealing concept together.
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
The progression of prototype development was split between three main areas, 3D printing, thermal adhesion and sewing. The 3D printing is used for exploring the closure method, the thermal adhesion is done with a domestic home iron to bond TPU coated materials together and finally the sewing is to explore the creation of a custom swimsuit to house the previously stated elements of INSEALIN.
For the full document outlining the entire process in greater detail, please feel free to reach out and I would be more than happy to discuss the project in further detail!

RECYCLED OCEAN PLASTICS
The goal of SJØMAT is not only to bring forth alternative products to the consumer market but to also bring change in the community on the environmental issues at hand as well. One major concern is the growing amount of plastic waste ending up in our oceans. With regards to SJØMATs business operations, they will be using 100% recycled ocean plastic packaging as well as instituting a BOYC or 'Bring Your Own Container' policy in order to receive a discounted price. There will also be bottles branded by the company that will contain fresh, made daily and locally in-season produce that would otherwise end up being discarded due to its appearance not meeting supermarket standards.
